"Have you ever walked past a bin of unassuming button mushrooms at the grocery store and wondered why they're so popular? Despite their unremarkable appearance, these little fungi pack a serious nutritional punch and are a staple ingredient in many dishes around the world. The humble button mushroom is a versatile and delicious addition to any meal. Now, button mushrooms are not only delicious, but they are also packed with numerous essential nutrients that make them a healthy addition to any diet


I love the taste of button mushrooms, a mild earthy taste with a slightly sweet and nutty undertone. I first ate mushroom when I went to my native place in Kerala. Like magic, at once hudreds of mushroom bloomed in the backward of the house we were staying then, it happened the next day after the first thunder at night during the rainy season. We picked in the morning itsef and made delicious mushroom roast with it for afternoon lunch. It was such a surprise. Though I had been to kerala many times I never seen anything like this. And I loved mushrrom. Overall, mushrooms have a unique and delicious flavor that can enhance a wide range of dishes, from soups and stews to stir-fries and salads. Their versatile taste and texture make them a favorite ingredient in many cuisines around the world. Recipe of Mouthwatering Roasted Button Mushrooms

serves 2-3 people


Ingredients used for making mushroom roast



Section 1: Ingredients required

  • 250 grm button mushroom

  • 1tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos or tamari

  • 1 and 1/2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon dry thyme or 1/2 tsp fresh thyme

  • 1/8-1/4 salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder

Section 4: Instructions

  1. Wash and pat dry the mushrooms with a tea towel thoroughly.

  2. Slice then to half.

  3. Place the mushrooms in a large bowl and add olive oil, soy sauce, (here I am using a alternative: cocnonut aminos as this has less sodium. you can use tamari also)

  4. Then add, parmesan cheeses, garlic, salt, pepper and thyme

  5. Toss it until the mushrooms are evenly coated.

  6. Meanwhile pre-heat the air-fryer for 5 minutes at 180 degree centigrade.

  7. Spread the mushrooms out in a single layer in the basket.

  8. And Roast the mushrooms for 8-10 minutes, or until they are tender and golden brown.

  9. Half way through remove the basket and shake it to ensure even browning.

  10. And serve it hot with noodles, soups or stews!
