Yogurt is number one probiotic food. And probiotic foods promote a healthy balance of gut bacteria and have been linked to a wide range of health benefits. These fruit yogurt recipes is a creative way to include yogurt in our diet so that we get benefit from the yogurt and enjoy it. Those of you who do not know what is flavored yogurt, it is prepared by mixing Greek Yogurt/hung curd with fresh spices or frozen fruits and some sweetener of your choice. Flavored yogurt is also known as shrikhand in India. It is best to make these flavored yogurt at home than shop bought as it is not only economical it is healthier than the shop brought ones as the extra sugar or sweetener and fillers etc. can be avoid. It is super easy to make at home.
Now, all those who read my blog and see my recipe video may know that I love yogurt. In India most of the vegetarian enjoy this flavored yogurt known as Shrikhand. I love these from my college days. But never thought about adding fruits in the yogurt, however, here in U A E when I started seeing this flavored yogurt we started buying. And I thought there must be some complicated process involved in making theses yogurt but when I discovered it is so easy-peasy, I started buying seasonal fruits and freezing it and started making flavored yogurt. We can have this as a healthy option for breakfast, snack or desert. So lets get started with recipe

Each fruit flavored yogurt recipe serves one person
Section 1: Equipment
1.High speed blender/mixer or food processor
2.Measuring cups

Section 2(i) Ingredients for Strawberry flavored yogurt
1/2 cup Greek Yogurt / Hung-curd (Click on the link to learn how to make Greek Yogurt/Hung-Curd)
1/4 cup strawberries chopped (around 4-5 preferably frozen strawberry)
A pinch of salt
1 tsp honey or sweeter of your choice (optional )
Section 2(ii): Directions
1. Puree the 1/4 cup of frozen strawberry in a blender by pulsing it
2. Add 1/2 cup Greek yogurt and blend and chill for 1-2 hrs and serve it with toppings of your choice
OR
2.Whisk with hand 1/2 cup of Greek Yogurt and add in pureed frozen strawberry and whisk it till well combined and serve it immediately or chilled with topping of your choice.

1/4 cup Blueberry chopped (preferably frozen strawberry)
A pinch of salt
1 tsp honey or sweeter of your choice (optional )
Section 3(ii): Directions
1. Puree the 1/4 cup of frozen blueberry in a blender by pulsing it
2. Add 1/2 cup Greek yogurt and blend and chill for 1-2 hrs and serve it with toppings of your choice
OR
2.Whisk with hand 1/2 cup of Greek Yogurt and add in pureed frozen blueberry and whisk it till well combined and serve it immediately or chilled with topping of your choice.


Section 4(i): Ingredients for Mango flavored yogurt
1/2 cup Greek Yogurt (Click on the link to learn how to make Greek Yogurt/Hung-Curd)
1/2 cup pureed mango (frozen or fresh)
A pinch of salt
1 tsp honey or sweeter of your choice (Only if required as mango has natural sweetness)
Section 4(ii): Directions
1. Puree the 1 or 1/2 mango (depends on the size) in a blender to get 1/2 cup of pureed mango
2. Add 1/2 cup Greek yogurt into the blender and blend it to form smooth consistency and chill for 1-2 hrs and serve it with toppings of your choice
OR
2.Whisk with hand 1 cup of Greek Yogurt and add in pureed frozen mango and whisk it till well combined and serve it immediately or chilled with topping of your choice.


Section 5(i): Ingredients for Banana flavored yogurt
1/2 cup Greek Yogurt (Click on the link to learn how to make Greek Yogurt/Hung-Curd)
1/2 cup pureed Banana (frozen or fresh)
A pinch of salt
1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/8 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp honey or sweeter of your choice (Only if required as Banana has natural sweetness)
Section 5(ii): Directions
1. Puree the 1 or 1/2 Banana (depends on the size of the banana) in a blender to get 1 cup of pureed Banana
2. Add 1 cup Greek yogurt into the blender and blend till to form smooth consistency and then add cocoa powder and cinnamon powder and mix then chill for 1-2 hrs and serve it with toppings of your choice
OR
2.Whisk with hand 1 cup of Greek Yogurt and add in pureed frozen banana and whisk it till well combined and serve it immediately or chilled with topping of your choice.

Section 6: Storage directions
Theses fruit flavored yogurt can be pre-prepped ahead of time and stored in refrigerator for 4-5 days easily.
Fruit flavored yogurt makes a ideal breakfast, snack or dessert. And since it can be pre-prepped it is ideal for busy people and those who are staying in hostels and away from home as no cooking is required. Children also will love this.
