If you are following my blog you will know that I have a sweet tooth. I am a great fan of jams, however, I use homemade strawberry sauce instead of shop-bought jam. It's simply irresistible. My boys also love it. It's a delightful balance between sweet and tangy flavors. It captures the essence of ripe strawberries with their natural sweetness, while also incorporating a subtle tanginess that adds a refreshing zing to every bite. The Perfect Homemade Strawberry and Chia seed Sauce Recipe


Section 1: List of the Ingredients required

  • 1/2 cups fresh strawberries/frozen Strawberries sliced

  • 1/2 tbsp brown Sugar/ Maple syrup / honey (adjust according to your taste) or you can use 3/4 to 1 tbsp brown sugar.

  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds (optional)

  • 1/4-1/2 tsp lemon juice

Section 3: Directions

  1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly and remove the stems. Slice them into small pieces.(Do not blend it)

  2. In a saucepan, add the sliced strawberries and sugar( if you are using sugar).

  3. Place the saucepan over low to medium heat and stir the mixture gently or until the sugar dissolves(if you are using sugar).

  4. When the strawberries have softened and released their juices it takes about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. And if you are using sugar let it be dissolved, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes.

  5. Then turn off the flame.

  6. Now, if you are using maple syrup or honey instead of sugar then add it at this point, then add chia seeds and lime juice and mix until well combined.

  7. let the mixture cool slightly.

  8. Allow the strawberry sauce to cool completely, and then transfer it to a jar or airtight container. Store in the refrigerator.

Your homemade strawberry and chia seed sauce is now ready to be used! You can enjoy it by drizzling over pancakes, spread over toastes/waffles, swirled into yogurt, or used as a topping for desserts or as a filling for cakes and pastries.
